Recently, as the government rolled out the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme, China’s Sinovac vaccine arrived in Malaysia.

Today, the programme’s coordinating minister and Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, Khairy Jamaluddin, became the first Malaysian to receive the Sinovac vaccine and has since been humorously sharing how his Mandarin has improved.

During the press conference of his vaccination, he shared in Mandarin, “Good day, everyone. I just got the Sinovac vaccine. As you can see, my Mandarin is suddenly better.”

Lepas suntik Sinovac, Khairy Jamaluddin terus fasih bahasa mandarin

He also took to his Facebook page to encourage others to get vaccinated, and of course, he had to share the message in Mandarin.

大家好。 我刚打了Sinovac 疫苗。我想说,这是安全的。我感觉很好。中文也突然变好。无论是哪一种疫苗,都是安全的。让我们一起打败病毒。保护自己,保护大家!

“Good day, everyone. My name is Khairy Jamaluddin. I just got the Sinovac vaccine. I believe it’s safe to say that I’m feeling good. My Chinese is suddenly better. Whichever vaccine it is, it is safe. Let’s beat the virus together. Protect yourself, protect everyone,” he shared in the video.

Hopefully, his rather entertaining video will encourage more people to get vaccinated, so that we can finally rid of the Covid-19 virus from our shores.
