What great news to start off our first day of July!

Along with the #KempenBenderaPutih that has been circulating in social media these days, another restaurant has stepped in to help our Malaysians.

The latest to join the White Flag campaign (#KempenBenderaPutih) is Awesome Canteen in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. They believe that no one should be hungry especially during this time of the pandemic. Hence, they will be providing free food to those in need.

Those in need of assistance just have to follow these simple steps to redeem a meal:

  1. Head over to Awesome Canteen in Taman Paramount (Jalan 20/13, Petaling Jaya, Selangor).
  2. Pass a piece of white paper at the counter.
  3. The free meal is all yours!

Dora from Awesome Canteen told WORLD OF BUZZ that they will be providing a complete meal of rice, vegetables, egg, and chicken. The best part is, these free meals are cooked fresh upon request! So those in need can enjoy a hot cooked meal while it’s still fresh.

As of today (1 July), no one has come by for the free Bendera Putih Meal yet. However, Awesome Canteen’s kitchen team is prepared to welcome and provide free meals to anyone who is currently in need of help, she added.

The restaurant will be giving out Bendera Putih Meal starting today (1 July 2021) until the end of the FMCO period. So if you know anyone in the Petaling Jaya area who needs help or knows anyone who is currently struggling to put food on their table, just head over to Awesome Canteen.

“Please be honest and true as we have a limited supply,” they added in their Instagram post.

It’s so endearing to see how our Malaysians care for each other during this FMCO period. We have encountered an increasing amount of food aid these days and we hope to see more kind acts by our fellow Malaysians in the future!
