Despite multiple campaigns and initiatives to help Malaysians to cut down and completely eliminate their littering habits, bad behaviour seems to constantly prevail.

This is showcased at a bazaar in Kelantan, where both vendors and visitors were condemned for leaving the location insanely trashed.

The Majlis Perbandaran Kota Bharu Bandar Raya Islam (MPKB-BRI) took to their TikTok page to share their disappointment over the matter, as they’ve prepared the necessary facilities to throw rubbish away properly at the bazaar but people still choose to litter.

They wrote, “Even though the Kelantanku Bersih (My clean Kelantan) campaign has been implemented for a long time, enough garbage disposal facilities have been provided, reminders from enforcement and public health officers to keep the bazaar area clean have been delivered many times, the community, traders and visitors still ignore it.”

“This is an example of the irresponsible attitude of some traders and visitors of the Pasar Parit Dalam, who do not prioritise cleanliness.”

What makes the situation sadder is that, as they shared, the guilty parties will still point fingers at the local councils for the mess.

“When things like this happen, the local council will also be blamed.”

Considering the necessary rubbish disposal facilities were provided, with much reminders from the authorities, there really is no one else to blame but the vendors and visitors.

This is why we can’t have nice things.
