Things got heated between a nasi lemak stall owner and a customer, after the latter decided that the nasi lemak was too expensive and refused to pay.

The customer who is a woman with her sister and her children, visited the nasi lemak stall in a hawker centre in Skudai, Johor to buy food.

According to a report by China Press, the customer refused to pay for the nasi lemak they ordered as she believed that a total of RM12 for the food was too expensive. A passerby then informed her that it was considered cheap as the total should have gone for RM15.

Upon hearing that the customer was refusing to pay, the customer’s sister, Huang, shared that the stall owner confronted her sister and when she still refused to fork up the money, the stall owner then threw the food at the customer and her family.

She alleges that the stall owner then pushed the customer to the ground and started beating her. Huang added that the stall owner apparently also brought out a knife and charged at them.

They were then separated by the general public.

The hawker centre management, shared a different story

Based on CCTV footage of the incident, the nasi lemak stall owner apparently threw the food on the ground instead of at the customer and her family.

They added that both parties were responsible for throwing hands at each other and that the customer had thrown hot soup at the stall owner.

Both the stall owner and the customer have since put the incident aside and have agreed to pay for each other’s medical bills. They have also met with the police to assist with investigations into this matter.

We are glad that the two parties have resolved the issue.
