A Johor man nearly lost his life after he drowned while trying to save a man who had jumped from a bridge.

Videos of the incident has since gone viral, showing the man’s heroic rescue mission.

The man’s father took to the Mus Warong Kampung Facebook page to call for prayers for his son’s wellbeing after he had been admitted into the Mersing Hospital following his drowning.

The father wrote, “Please pray that my son, Muhammad Firdaus Mustapa, will be saved. His intention was to help a man who jumped from a bridge, but no one expected that he (the son) would end up drowning. He is now admitted at the Mersing Hospital.”

Thankfully, in an update, the father shared that Muhammad Firdaus Mustapa survived the ordeal and is recovering. He also revealed that the man who had jumped from the bridge is missing.

“Alhamdulillah, my son is safe, it was until the emergency oxygen had completely dropped. Luckily he was brought to emergency ward quickly. Thank you to the Endau and Mersing health clinics.”

“The attempted suicide victim has yet to be found. Bomba personnel and the police are currently in the middle of a search mission,” he added.

We’re so happy to hear that Muhammad Firdaus Mustapa is safe and doing well! We genuinely hope that the authorities will locate the missing attempted suicide victim so that he can get the help that he needs.
