The God of fortune is coming for CNY! It’s just that he had accidentally fallen down due to the slippery road in Johor Bahru.

In a Johor Bahru group’s Facebook posting by user Ah Heng, Johor Sutera Mall’s god of fortune figure appeared to have their face on the floor after accidentally falling down after a rainy day.

The photo showed the god of fortune who had fallen on his face in front of Sutera Mall, and the slippery road due to rain. The post quickly got the attention of netizens, with many finding it hilarious.

In Mandarin, the word “fall down”(dao) rhymes with “arriving”(dao). Hence, some netizens think that this is a good sign, because the god of fortune has truly “arrived” at the mall.

Others also left humorous comments under the post, such as:

“The god of fortune has arrived, and Sutera mall will flourish this year.”

“Should be, ‘I’ve worked one month as Santa Claus, and now I have to be God of fortune some more. I am overworked, let me rest for a while,” said another user jokingly.
