An Australian YouTuber decided to explore the Belum Rainforest in Gerik, Perak, only to end up helping a Malaysian who was stranded by the side of the road, in the darkness of the night, after his motorcycle had broken down.

The YouTuber, Liam Richards, took to his Instagram account to recount how he had stumbled upon the Malaysian man while riding a high-performance motorcycle into the darkness of a road inside Belum Rainforest, after nightfall.

He wrote, “Rescuing a guy in Belum Rainforest. Dude was in the middle of nowhere!”

He went looking for elephants, but found a stranded Malaysian instead

In his video, he had ridden his motorcycle into the forest where it was pitch dark with no street lights. He suddenly noticed a Malaysian man by the side of the road, as his motorcycle had broken down.

“I don’t know why,” the Malaysian man told Liam, indicating that he was unsure why his motorcycle had broken down, and added that he was on his way home, which was more than an hour away from their location.

Liam then tried to help the man start his motorcycle and assisted in attempting a ‘roll start’, where a motorcycle is pushed before trying to start the engine. When that failed, Liam then offered to help push the man’s motorcycle to a more public area where he could call for help, as there were no phone lines where they were.

“I was looking for elephants, but I found you instead!” Liam hilariously told the Malaysian man.

“He’s in safe hands now”

Liam ended up helping to push the man’s motorcycle for about 40 minutes, until they got to an area where there were lights and people, one of whom proceeded to help the Malaysian man with his motorcycle.

“At least he’s in safe hands now. There’s a guy that works here, he’s got all the tools, the toolkit and stuff. So, he’s pulling apart the fuse box and all sorts of stuff. A bit better than what we could do, stuck out in the middle of nowhere,” Liam added.
