JCI Malaysia is an organisation for young citizens between the 18 to 40 that focuses on youth leadership and skill enhancement, as per the description on its social media page.

In its statement, JCI also stated that the viral incident is purely the doctor’s personal matter, which has nothing to do with the organisation’s work or mission. An internal review will take place, and proper actions will follow.

In the meantime, JCI also asked the public not to spam its social media pages, which JCI deemed unfair to the volunteers and sponsors. The organisation has also locked the comments sections on its social media pages following the spamming from social media users after the video of the incident circulated on social media.

“It disrupts the spirit of volunteerism and the community service we strive to uphold.”

At the time of writing, Dr. Wong has been replaced by JCI’s immediate past President, who held the position in 2024.

“I sincerely apologise to the public for the attention and concern this issue has caused”

Just this morning, Dr. Wong, in his Facebook post, stated that he had lodged a police report following online threats and cyberbullying that his family has been receiving.

“I sincerely apologise to the public for the attention and concern this issue has caused, as well as the unnecessary use of public resources. This is a personal matter and has no relation to any organisations, associations, friends, or family members.”

Dr. Wong also mentioned that he felt guilty for hurting his wife twice, and in another Facebook post, he apologised to his wife for the matter.

On Monday (August 25), the video of Dr. Wong and another man’s wife in his BMW went viral, which shows the woman’s husband confronting the pair, saying that he has not officially divorced his wife.
