Christmas is usually a joyous occasion for many people as they’re able to celebrate with their loved ones with fancy dinners and exchanging of gifts. But unfortunately, it seems like things did not go well for this Hong Kong couple.

In a recent post on Dcard, the woman from Hong Kong has shared her experience. In her post she said, “This is my first time experiencing such encounters and it’s truly eye-opening.”

“This year is my first-year spending Christmas with my boyfriend. We wanted an intimate celebration at a nice restaurant, and I’ve booked the place a month before Christmas eve.”

She shared that as she was getting ready for the dinner, her boyfriend’s mother called her and shouted at her.

“How could you ask my son out during Christmas eve?!” she shouted.

Puzzled, the girl then replied to the boyfriend’s mom telling her that she wanted to celebrate Christmas with her son. Her partner’s mom got so angry when she said that and told her that the ‘correct’ way of celebrating Christmas is by going to church.

“Going out with a partner during Christmas instead of going to church is a sin and the devil’s doing!“, her boyfriend’s mom had said.

She revealed that she had known that her boyfriend’s mom is a believer of Christ, however, her boyfriend has not stepped foot into a church since graduating primary school.

She then ended the post by saying that she was shocked and disappointed that her Christmas celebration with her boyfriend was ruined.

Do you think she was at fault for asking her boyfriend out to celebrate Christmas? Let us know in the comments below.
