What’s your dream birthday celebration? Quality time with loved ones? Fancy food and presents, or to tick off your bucket list?

Malaysian influencer, Tay Wee Shen recently brought his GF, Gatita Yan to the United States of America to celebrate her birthday and in just 9 days, RM100,000 was spent! On a series of Instagram stories recently, Wee Shen took the time to share his itinerary and how much has been spent on the journey thus far.

This might come in handy if you’re planning a trip to the USA anytime soon, and if you’re on a tight budget, this might just not be the place for you.

For the plane tickets alone, RM30,000 was spent for 2 people. You can refer to the couple’s spending on accommodation on transport in the picture below.

USA is a huge country, so it’s not surprising that the couple will have a lot of places to go. As of now, Wee Shen said that their stay for the next 77 days has yet to be planned.

In the meantime, Gatita updated her IG stories and said that USA was the best place to stargaze among all the countries that she had visited.

“The moon looks stunning here. It’s big and round. It’s also not as dangerous as I expected but you just have to be alert, that’s all,” she explained.

In terms of budget, Gatita admitted that they might spend over the budget, but they’re not planning to return to Malaysia anytime soon. In fact, they are planning to stay in the USA for another 3 months!

“We’re planning to come back around January 2024. I’m not sure if RM300,000 budget is enough for us.”

She also revealed that her stay at one of the hotels there cost them RM2,000 per night. In the meantime, she said that she will be uploading her travel vlog in the USA soon.

To those who have been to the USA, do you have any other suggestions on where the couple can visit or any way they can minimise their budget?
