The free LRT train rides for a month effective yesterday (June 16) were certainly good news for most of its users. However, LRT users who have signed up for the monthly My50 pass may be left confused and wondering if their monthly passes have become redundant.

Fellow My50 monthly pass users, RapidKL confirmed via their Facebook page last night that you are eligible for another 30 days of free ride when your pass expires!

Here’s how:

  1. For existing My50 monthly pass users (expires between June 17 – July 15), you can redeem the 30-day free ride on the next purchase.
  2. If you have just signed up for the My50 pass on June 16, you can only redeem the 30-day free ride between 23-25 July 2022.
  3. After those dates, head to the station’s counter after the pass has expired.
  4. Show them your receipt of the My50 pass to get another free 30 days.

Payment receipts of the monthly pass should be kept for verification purposes. However, if you have thrown away your receipt, fret not! Here’s how you can redeem your 30-day free ride upon the expiration of your My50 pass.

All you have to do is download an application, known as MyRapid PULSE where you will need to fill up a form.

Friendly reminder

In the meantime, all LRT users are also reminded to tap their TnG cards, My50 monthly pass or the tokens at their intended entry & exit. The 30-day free ride is NOT applicable for Rapid Penang & Rapid Kuantan users!

This is certainly good news for fellow My50 monthly pass users! As to the others, will you be giving LRT train rides a try during the free-ride period? Do keep in mind that KTMB train users can also enjoy the 30-day free ride.
