Just a week ago, JPJ announced that the grace period for vehicle owners with expired road taxes and licenses will be coming to an end on 30 September 2021.
Although it was also announced that post offices are able to renew licenses again, it may be quite a hassle for some as you would need to make an appointment beforehand.
On POS Malaysia’s website, many outlets are fully booked all the way till the end of September 2021.
But, my license is about to expire soon! What should I do?
Worry not! You can renew your license online without much hassle!
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how you can renew it.
Step 1: Log on to the myEG website.
If you don’t already have an account, would need to create one and then log in.
Step 2: Click on ‘Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan’ (JPJ).
Once you have created your account and have logged in, you will see a few options on your screen.
Find for ‘Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan’ and click on it.
Step 3: Select ‘Driving License Renewal’.
Once you have clicked into Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan, select ‘Driving license renewal’.
Once you have done that, then click on ‘proceed’.
Step 4: Fill in your details.
This next step will require you to fill in your information and details such as the number of years for renewal, your contact number, home address and preferred collection method.
Later, you are required to pay the renewal fees and service tax. Do take note that delivery charges may vary subject to your area.
Step 5: Proceed to payment.
Once you have double-checked the information filled, click ‘proceed’ and then click ‘Agree’, which will then bring you to proceed with the payment.
When you’ve settled your payment, the final step is done!
Your license would be renewed as quickly as two working days.
