Korean DJ, DJ Soda, recently shared a traumatic experience where she was told to remove her pants in a public setting.
It all started when she had boarded a commercial flight only to be asked to exit the plane due to the nature of her pants.
In a Twitter thread, she shared, “I got kicked off from an American Airlines flight and they harassed me to take off my sponsored RIPNDIP ‘F*CK YOU’ sweatpants in front of people to board (the plane) again.”
Here’s something important to note: the sweatpants had ‘f*ck you you f*ckin’ f*ck‘ written all over it.
“Yesterday, coming back from JFK to LAX with American Airlines, I was harassed and humiliated. I was forced out of the plane and was harassed to take off my pants in front of the flight crew at the gate,”
“I have never had an issue with wearing this pair of pants before in my many months of touring North America and they did not have any problem with me wearing it at the time of check-in nor when I sat down at my seat,” she shared.
Though, later a staff member suddenly approached her and asked her to pack her belonging and to leave the plane without an explanation.
“As I was escorted off the plane, they claimed that my sweatpants were ‘inappropriate’ and ‘offensive’ telling me that I need to take the next flight.”
She pleaded with the staff members to let her stay on her flight as she had an important meeting to get to and even offered to change her clothes, but the staff members allegedly ignored her.
“What happened next was horrendous. With my broken fingers, I hardly ended up taking off my pants in front of the whole crew and standing half-naked while they still refused to board me on the flight. They even sarcastically commented that I could have taken off my pants earlier,” DJ Soda added.
She ultimately managed to board the flight again after wearing the ‘F*CK YOU’ pants inside out and the entire incident caused a 1 hour delay of the flight.
“I was mortified and trembling in fear for the next 6 hours on my flight back to LA. In my 8 years of touring, I have never experienced or been treated unfairly, especially in a country that is known for its freedom of speech and individuality,” she explained, vowing to never fly with American Airlines again.
While many shared their dismay that she had to strip off her pants in a public setting, others believe that she deserved the ill treatment.
