According to China Press, a hardworking teacher known as Zhang suffered from a sudden stroke when he was giving a lecture but if he had heeded his symptoms, he might have avoided this problem. This happened two years ago and Zhang’s speech ability is still not fully recovered.

He says that he regretted not taking care of his health at that time as he was very busy preparing his students for their graduating exams. It was a crucial year for them and as Zhang was a very responsible teacher, working really hard to make sure his students were well-prepared for their exams.

He would work late into the night and had insufficient sleep, which caused him to develop a headache. He didn’t think much of it as he felt that it was a pretty common occurrence and thought that if he took some pills or had enough rest then it would be fine.

It was just over a month before the school holiday and Zhang would still experience intermittent headaches. He would take some headache pills to cope, but it got so bad that he had dizziness and nausea. His wife urged him to rest more, but this was not enough because one day when he was teaching, he suddenly crumpled to the ground and scared his students.

He was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with a stroke. Luckily, he survived the incident and when he visited a traditional Chinese medicine physician, he asked why he suddenly suffered from a stroke. The physician told him that this was not unusual as he had been experiencing intermittent headaches for almost a year with dizziness and nausea – which were symptoms of a stroke.

Based on Verywell Health, having a headache is a common symptom of high blood pressure or stroke. Zhang says that he didn’t know headaches were related to stroke and thought that it was a small issue. His wife added that she had urged him to go to a doctor and wished that she had forced him to seek professional help.

The physician said that it was the body’s way of letting you know that it was feeling unwell, and we should always pay attention to these signals. He said that if not treated, this could deteriorate into something serious.

Take care of your health, peeps!
