One of the proudest moments for Malaysia is knowing that the world’s second tallest building lies within the heart of Kuala Lumpur. As the name suggests, Merdeka 118 formerly known as KL 118 and Warisan Merdeka Tower is a 118-storey building that is approximately 678.9 metres tall.

Following this, a Russian based daredevil couple has posted pictures of them on top of the tower. In his Instagram post he mentioned that he is aware that climbing the building is illegal.

“I heard many stories about trying to climb this building illegally. The saddest ones ended a prison for several months. There are many closed doors and CCTV cameras inside the building. Which makes it the most desirable building in the world,” he wrote.

In a forum called Skyscraper City, the couple posted 3 pictures of them on top of the tower. It appears that the pictures showing them on top of the building were taken by a drone.

Where is the security?

Following their actions, many netizens are concerned over the security of the building.

“Please sack the security company!”

Another commented, “Why the surprise? They probably paid their way in.”

“This is not the first time that someone would climb on top of an unfinished building,” commented a user.

While their bravery is to be admired, we would like to urge the public not to trespass any buildings and not to follow in their footsteps as there could be serious repercussions. Stay safe out there, fellow Malaysians!
