Cigarettes After Sex is Coming Back to KL! Here’s Why You Can’t Miss Their Biggest M’sian Show

After their last concert in Malaysia back in July 2023 (that long ago???), we’re stoked to find out that the hit American pop band Cigarettes After Sex is finally making a comeback to Kuala Lumpur soon!

Cigarettes After Sex will be returning to Malaysia on 11 January 2025 to perform at Surf Beach, Sunway Lagoon!

Organised by Good Vibes Presents as part of their world tour in 2025, Cigarettes After Sex will be stopping by Tokyo, Seoul and Hong Kong before they touch down in KL on 11 January. You better get your tix quick, because if their last two sold-out shows in 2023 are any indication, this show will be close to selling out soon as well!

Here’s what all the rage is about with this dream pop trio from Texas ?:

Super dreamy vibes all around

Led by singer and guitarist Greg Gonzalez, Cigarettes After Sex’s minimalist yet emotional music has won ears (and subsequently, hearts) worldwide with songs including “Nothing’s Gonna Hurt You Baby”, “Sunsetz”, and “K.”.

Cigarettes After Sex’s discography is adorned with tunes that have topped charts, including the Billboard 200, and awarded numerous certifications, including 2x Platinum from the RIAA for “Apocalypse”!

If you’ve never given their music a spin, here are some of their most iconic works which have mesmerised countless listeners around the world:

• “Apocalypse”: Their number one track on Spotify with more than 1 billion streams, this song perfectly represents Cigarettes After Sex’s sound by utilising Greg Gonzalez’s tender vocals over ambient instrumentals.
• “K.”: A deeply romantic ode that’s driven by its gentle rhythm and poetic lyrics, making it sound like a love letter sung aloud to music.
• “Falling in Love”: As the song title indicates, this tune relies on delicate melodies and intimate lyrics to capture the vulnerability of falling deeply for someone.
• “John Wayne”: A bit darker and heavier than Cigarettes After Sex’s usual numbers, this song’s lyrics and hypnotic rhythm are steeped in cinematic imagery, giving it a unique edge in their musical catalogue while maintaining their signature sound.

More than just a concert—it’s an experience!

You know what’s better than listening to Cigarettes After Sex? Watching them play their music live! Cigarettes After Sex’s live shows are well-regarded for transporting the audience into a dreamscape of sorts, making for a night that lingers in your mind long after the last song ends.
