A miracle walked through the doors for a shop owner in Guangdong, China, as he was reunited with his first love from his schooling days, and afterwards, he got engaged to her just days later!

According to a report by SCMP, a woman had walked into a rice noodle shop in Huizhou City when she noticed that the owner looked a lot like her first love, someone she was in a relationship with during her secondary school days.

She decided to ask him if he was indeed her secondary school sweetheart, and it truly was him! They ended up exchanging contact details as they had not seen each other since 2009, when they broke up to further their studies in different cities.

Misunderstandings were also allegedly to blame for their breakup, though they apparently still loved each other; but they were too stubborn to admit their mistakes.

The shop owner later admitted that he had recognised her but was too nervous to reveal himself to her until she asked first. He dared not look at her and even cried after she left. He later posted the CCTV footage of their encounter on social media and even closed his shop for a day because “something good happened to him”.

He also revealed that he opened a rice noodles shop in their hometown because he knew she loved rice noodles.

They got engaged 6 days after their chance encounter!

She took the shop owner to see her parents, and he announced their engagement on August 29, which is also on Qixi Festival, China’s Valentine’s Day. They are planning on getting married by the end of the year.

“Our reunion is the best luck we have, and there will be no more regrets. I will never lose you again,” he said.
