With Chinese New Year just around the corner, many are saddened that they’ll have to skip their reunion dinners due to MCO restrictions. Sadly, many underprivileged families don’t even have that option and have accustomed themselves to going on without reunion dinners.

Thankfully, Uncle Kentang is stepping forward with an initiative that will send reunion dinners to underprivileged families right to their doorstep, but he needs your help!

Kuan Chee Heng, or more affectionately known as Uncle Kentang, took to his Facebook page to call on restaurant owners and caterers to help make his idea of providing reunion dinners to around 100 families, a reality.

Dinner 3

He wrote, “Let’s bring reunion dinner to their doorsteps this Chinese New Year. Can we get some Chinese restaurants or home-based caterers that can prepare reunion cooked food for poor families? If you are the owner of a restaurant and can come out with a ‘Reunion Food Pack’ that is worth RM100 to be sent to poor families, please leave a message here. You can also call me at +60122732148.”

“We are looking at 100 families in the Puchong area, this coming Chinese New Year. The meals can be vegetarian or with meat. This is to give some warmth to families who celebrate Chinese New Year but cannot afford to. If you are keen to help out, we are more than happy to talk to you. Let us bring smiles to everyone,” he added.

Despite how rocky 2021 has started off, we can still make the best of the days to come by helping others in need and putting a smile on the faces of the underprivileged.

Anyone interested in helping out can contact Uncle Kentang at +60122732148.
