Among others, the recognition was for her outstanding performance in the rescue operation with the volunteer fire brigade during the Hatyai floods in Thailand. Additionally, JBPM recognised the collective effort of the volunteer fire brigade in the disaster area.

At the commissioning ceremony for new equipment and vessels of the Taman Seri Serdang Volunteer Fire Brigade, Nor Hisham presented appointment letters to brigade members. In his address, he commended the team’s performance during the recent flood relief mission in Hatyai, describing it as an example for volunteer fire brigades nationwide.

In addition to receiving a letter of appointment, Han Xiao Ai also received a certificate of commendation and was the first to take a group photo with the newly commissioned equipment and fire truck, as reported by China Press.

Han Xiao Ai emphasised that she did not do this to gain attention, but rather because she could not bear to see so many people still trapped, which is why she decided to step forward.
