The 10-year-old girl who had reportedly gone missing after falling into a drain in front of the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council hall and was subsequently being swept away by drain water has been found dead this morning (May 20).
According to a report by Kosmo, the Ampang Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azam Ismail, shared that the victim’s body was found about 6km from the location where she fell.
“The victim was found in Sungai Keroyang, Taman Cheras Indah at about 11:20am today. The child was confirmed dead and the body has been taken to the forensics department of the Ampang Hospital for a post-mortem,” he added.
Based on a spokesperson for the Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Operations Centre, a total of 15 personnel and 1 engine from the Cheras Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) and Jalan Tun Razak BBP were involved in the operation to find the girl.
