A foul smell coming from a house in Bandar Selesa Jaya, Johor, led to the discovery of the body of a female teacher, 39-year-old Lo Kwan Fong, in a decomposed state inside the house.

According to a report by Kosmo, Iskandar Puteri District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner M. Kumarasan, shared that the victim’s neighbour had come forward to file a police report at the Nusa Bestari Police Station at 8pm on Thursday (June 12).

Initial investigations found that the victim had lived alone and was believed to have died within a month.

“The results of the autopsy conducted by the forensic specialist doctor at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) in Johor Bahru found the cause of death to be unascertained (due to advanced decomposition),” he said.

Assistant Commissioner M. Kumarasan further explained that the woman was unmarried and worked at a school near the Taman Tunku Aminah area. However, she was considered missing as she had apparently not gone to work for 9 months, since September 24, 2024.

“This case has been classified as a sudden death, and no criminal elements have been detected involving the cause of the deceased’s death. The deceased’s heirs are in the process of responding to the police,” he added.
