There was recently a water shortage around the area of Taman Molek and Bandar Seri Alam, Masai, Johor which had caused the residents of around 50 neighbourhoods to have a shortage of water for around 3 to 4 days.

Videos of residents carrying water back to their homes and of the situation have been circulating on social media as residents urged the authorities to resolve the issue after several days of no water.

After the long wait for water, water tanks were finally sent to the residents yesterday (October 30).

In videos that have gone viral online, a couple of water tankers were seen at the seen despite the heavy rain which prompted some BN supporters to praise the party for their “swift” action.

In one of the posts that has since gone viral, a netizen praised the political coalition. “This is the service and devotion that has been shown by BN staff in Pasir Gudang.”

“Even though it has been raining, the delivery of fresh water continued. Those from PH and PN can’t be seen! So don’t hesitate to reject PH and PN in GE15!”

Caught the attention of TMJ

In response to such comments which congratulated those from BN for their devotion to deliver water, a number of netizens pointed out that it probably wouldn’t have even happened if Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim hadn’t gotten involved.

Yesterday (October 30) afternoon, TMJ had responded to a netizen’s request for him to look into the issue via Twitter.

In his response to the netizen, TMJ stated that he would investigate the matter and solve it as soon as possible.

In a further update, TMJ also stated that the issue was due to a burst pipe and that he has been in touch with Ranhill SAJ, an integrated water supply company to solve and monitor the issue.

At 7pm the same day, TMJ reported that the issue has been resolved and that the situation is under control.

Following the continuous updates by TMJ, netizens were quick to slam BN supporters for essentially congratulating the party in charge of Johor for merely taking responsibility for what they are supposed to in the very first place.

“Need to push then only will they do their job. Just fire them, the ones that kept delaying it.”

Another pointed out that it’s been 3 days without water and that people have had to complain to TMJ but they’re still proud for delivering water.

“In the first place, why are you not functioning that well that resulted in 3 days without water?” asked the netizen.

One netizen commented, “Amazing. Only when TMJ got involved did they finally send the water trucks.”
