It was recently reported that the famous restaurant in Thailand, Staneemeehoi, which is fondly known as ‘Thai Hot Guys’ thanks to their cross-dressing, dancing waiters, is looking to relocate to Malaysia.

This, though, allegedly drew backlash.

Don’t worry, Malaysia!

Following this, the owners of Staneemeehoi, Dee and Wow, took to their shared Facebook page to assure Malaysians that they do not intend to bring the ‘dancing’ aspect of their famous restaurant to our shores.

They wrote, “We really like Malaysia a lot, but we DO NOT intend to operate a ‘dancing’ restaurant in Kuala Lumpur.”

“The concept of dancing brings joy to our customers when they visit Bangkok, Thailand, but rest assured, this will not happen in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.”

They further explained that they’re planning to maintain a ‘dancing’ restaurant in Thailand and will bring a different concept to Malaysia.

“In Thailand, our restaurant, Staneemehoi, will continue how it has been operating, and once we have a suitable location and in Malaysia, our concept is to bring famous, authentic Thai food to be served in Malaysia,”

“Dee really loves cooking, so he has had a dream to open up a restaurant overseas, sharing our Thai dishes around the world and with that said, the first stop will be Kuala Lumpur,” they added.

“We respect Malaysian culture”

They ended the post by pledging their regard for Malaysian culture.

“We respect Malaysian culture and will always love how Malaysia is, therefore, please be assured that we will not do anything to harm us or Malaysia.”
