Age doesn’t matter in a relationship, as long as it’s mutually agreed between 2 happy parties. In the entertainment industry, the age gap in a marriage or relationship between 2 celebrities is not something new.
For instance, Hong Kong legendary action star, Donnie Yen is 18 years older than his wife, Cissy Wang. Both are 61 and 43 this year, respectively. In Hollywood, Titanic star Leonardo Dicaprio is known for allegedly dating women under the age of 25. Leonardo turns 50 this year.
Just recently, our childhood Spiderman actor, Tobey Maguire was spotted with Lily Chee at the White Party on July 4th. The Hollywood actor was spotted with his arm around the Chinese model at the event, sparking rumors that both are dating. The images were shared on X page @21metgala.
Dating lives in the showbiz are not something social media users always talk about but when the age gap shows a significant difference, it raises some eyebrows.
Tobey is 49 and Lily is 20 years old.Ā Tobey’s daughter is only 3 years younger than Lily.
At the time of writing, both Tobey and Lily have yet to comment further on the viral image.
Lily Chee was born in Atlanta, USA to a Malaysian Chinese father and an Irish mum.
Social media users immediately brought the matter to the attention of Tobey’s ex-wife, Jennifer Meyer, who hesitantly responded to the viral images of Tobey and Lily. She was quick to deny the relationship allegations and said Tobey was merely being a gentleman.
āI donāt usually respond to such nonsense, but he was kindly helping a friend to her car, being a good guy,” Jennifer revealed on her Instagram @jenmeyerjewelry.
Meyer also had a reminder to those who get engaged in rumors easily, and said,
āDonāt believe everything you read. Iām sure you were taught that somewhere. Tobey is as good of a guy as it gets.ā
Tobey and Meyer tied the knot in 2007 before they both separated in 2016, according to the Independent.
