“Investigations revealed that the victim had boarded the suspect’s car from the Bukit Sentosa bus station to go to Masjid As-Salam to meet a friend. The victim had known the suspect since December last year, when he temporarily stayed at the mosque,” he said.

He added that the suspect, who works as a mosque caretaker in Bukit Sentosa, allegedly touched the victim’s genitals during the journey and also sent obscene messages to the teenager’s mobile phone.

“Following swift action by the Criminal Investigation Division, the suspect was arrested on 16 October at around 12:30 AM at his home in Bukit Sentosa, Rawang, to assist in the investigation. Checks revealed that the suspect has no prior criminal record,” he added.
