PDRM Arrests 400 Individuals in Bangsar South, Reportedly KL’s Largest Online Gambling & Fraud Bust

A total of 400 individuals, believed to be members of an online fraud syndicate, were arrested in a raid on an office building in Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur.

It is understood that the arrests were made following public information and intelligence by the Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department (JSJK) team, along with the Kuala Lumpur contingent police.

According to a report by Berita Harian, the Kuala Lumpur Police Chief, Datuk Fadil Marsus, confirmed that the raid and arrests happened, but declined to comment further.

“The investigation is still ongoing, as so many arrests have been made. A special press conference will be held in the near future,” he said.

Prior to this, it was reported that the police had busted one of the largest online gambling and fraud syndicates in the capital, after arresting hundreds of individuals in a raid on a commercial building in Bangsar South.

At least 5 floors of the building were believed to have housed the syndicate’s call centre.

Viral videos shared online also showed people being arrested, as they lined up to be taken in police lorries.
