Is it just me or it’s relatively easy for robbers to acquire firearms these days?

Just yesterday, four security guards who were about to top up the ATM were targeted by four daring armed robbers. This shocking heist took place at Petronas in Bukit Antarabangsa, as reported by The Star.

When contacted by reporters, Ampang Jaya OCPD, Asst Comm Hamzah Alias said the daylight robbery took place at approximately 5pm. He said, “The four guards went to the ATM at a Petronas petrol station here and were about to refill it with cash when four men approached them on two motorcycles.”

“One of the suspects armed with a pistol fired a warning shot in the air and disarmed the guard holding a shotgun.”

“They forced the guards to hand over two bags containing the cash which was in the van,” Hamzah said.

One of the guards suffered a blow on his head by a robber using the taken shotgun. The suspects then fled on two Yamaha 125Z motorcycles and tossed the shotgun by the roadside, which was recovered later. Imagine the kind of damage that could be done if they decided to keep the shotgun.

Obviously, they came prepared as the CCTV footage showed that they were wearing helmets with tinted visors and gloves to avoid leaving any trace of evidence at the scene. How did they know the schedule of the security guards tho?

A witness who was nearby during the incident managed to capture this picture.

The case is currently being investigated as voluntarily causing hurt in an armed robbery under Section 394 of the Penal Code and Section 3 of the Firearms Act. Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to contact the police or visit their nearest police station.

We hope the police can put the robbers behind bars and have the pistol confiscated asap! The public definitely won’t feel safe knowing that there’s robbers roaming around armed with a pistol.
