A 3-year-old girl reportedly jumped out of a car while she was being driven by a teacher to her first day of preschool in Rompin, Pahang, leaving the girl with severe oral injuries that necessitated surgery under general anaesthesia and over 20 stitches.

According to a report by Sin Chew Daily, the girl’s mother shared that the incident took place less than 5 minutes after her teacher had fetched her.

A 3-year-old girl suffered severe injuries after reportedly jumping out of a car on her first day of preschool in Rompin

The mother initially assumed that the girl had only sustained scratches when the teacher had called her to inform her about the incident. However, when she realised that the girl had yet to return home after the phone call, she drove over to the scene of the incident to check for herself.

“When I arrived at the scene, I saw that my child’s clothes were covered in blood, and blood was flowing from her mouth. I immediately took her to the hospital emergency room,” she stated.

The circumstances leading to the girl jumping from the vehicle remain unclear.

The extent of her injuries

After an examination, the hospital’s doctor explained that the girl’s injuries were quite serious and required referral to a dentist for further treatment.

It turned out that the girl not only had a wound on the outside of her lip but also severe tears to her gums.

Thankfully, the girl received the treatment that she needed and has since returned home to recuperate.

However, the girl is currently unable to eat normally and is restricted to a liquid diet of milk and medication administered via spoon.

. Her injuries also need to be disinfected and sprayed with medicine regularly to prevent infection, and she needs to go for check-ups every week.

“I still feel lingering fear when I think about it. I just hope my child can recover soon.”

We wish the girl a speedy recovery.
