A 24-year-old influencer from Taiwan has reportedly passed away suddenly, leaving fans worried it might’ve been due to poisoning.

Known as Guava Beauty, she had over 12,000 followers and was known for her sweet, youthful image and creative content, including videos of her eating cosmetic products, according to Sinar Harian.

“If you suggest it, I’ll dare myself to eat it”

Guava Beauty’s content includes “make-up mukbang” (a trend where people eat while chatting with viewers), where she was seen eating lipstick, blush, face masks, and even cotton pads.

In one of her recent videos, she showed off a jelly-textured blush by applying it to her face, then scooping it up with a fork and chewing on it.

“Let’s try it. It’s like jelly. Sorry guys, but it tastes awful,” she said.

While some fans were shocked, others were more concerned, pointing out that her videos might give younger viewers the wrong idea about eating cosmetic products.

“All business collaborations cancelled”

Following the video, no new posts appeared on her profile until May 24, when she suddenly changed her bio to:

“Logged out of the world. A new journey begins. All business collaborations cancelled.”

A few hours later, her family issued an official statement announcing her passing.

“With deep sadness, we announce that our cosmetic mukbang star, Guava Beauty, has ended her journey and passed away on May 24, 2025.”

The announcement sparked speculation about the cause of her death, with some suggesting chemical poisoning from cosmetics, while others suspected a heart attack.
