12yo Girl Rushed to Hospital After Man Attacks Her with Hammer in JB, Suspect Arrested the Same Day

The police have arrested a 39-year-old man after he allegedly attacked a 12-year-old girl with an iron hammer on Saturday (July 26) at a flat in Johor.

According to a statement shared on their Facebook page, the Johor Bahru Selatan district police shared that they received a report about the incident at about 5:19pm and made the arrest at about 7:25pm on the same day.

They wrote, “Acting on information, on the same day at approximately 7:25pm, a team of police officers from the Tun Aminah Police Station of the Johor Bahru Utara Police Headquarters, successfully arrested a suspect, a 39-year-old local man, at his residence in the Johor Bahru area.”

“The 12-year-old local girl was taken to the Sultan Aminah Hospital, Johor Bahru, and is currently reported to be in a stable condition. The victim suffered a skin tear on her head and a bruise on her right hand as a result of the attack.”

Investigations found that the suspect has various past criminal records, including drug-related offences, and a urine test showed that he was positive for meth. He has since been remanded for 7 days to help with the investigations into this incident.

This comes after the girl’s grandmother, Lily Love, had shared the horrifying incident on her Facebook page, which shows the girl in a bloodied condition following the attack.
