About 1,000 people were left feeling cheated after signing up for massage packages amounting to half a million Ringgit, with a health and beauty centre located across 5 states that are no longer in operation.

According to a report by Kosmo, MCA Youth Complaints and Public Services Bureau Chief, Heng Zhi Li, shared that all 28 branches of the health and beauty centre located in Johor, Selangor, Melaka, Penang and Kuala Lumpur have closed down since May 1.

Before the closures, however, customers had bought packages from the centres worth between RM2,400 and RM10,000, totalling RM500,000.

“What is sad is that the operator of the premises did not announce that they were shutting down operations. Since last month, when regular customers called to make appointments, the operator gave excuses that there were no empty slots,”

“Suddenly, customers were informed that the premises had no longer been operating since the beginning of the month, with the excuse of insufficient cash flow and not having enough workers,” he said.

Customers were attracted by the packages offered due to reasonable prices and because the packages could be used across all branches of the health and beauty centre.

So far, Zhi Li’s party has been informed that 54 individuals have come forward to file police reports regarding this incident.
