One of the worst things about driving in Malaysia is the disproportion between the number of cars on the road and the number of available parking spots which can often result in you wasting your time just to be able to find a spot to park your vehicle.

Even when you do find a parking spot, there have been plenty of cases where people would often book or ‘cop’ that parking spot for another car by standing in the spot and refusing to move.

In a dashcam footage which has recently gone viral, a driver of a car appeared to be trying to look for a parking spot.

They eventually came across a parking spot, but were surprised to find that the empty parking spot had been booked by 2 men who were standing in the spot.

Although many of us might just pull away and find another spot to avoid confrontation, this driver felt otherwise and drove into the parking spot without hesitation.

The 2 men appeared to be surprised and helpless as they walked away from the parking spot to avoid getting hit by the driver of the car. They then walked away in shame assumingly to find another parking spot.

The right thing to do?

The video has since gone viral on multiple social media platforms. Netizens took to the comments section to praise the driver of the car for not hesitating to just drive in and scare away the men.

“Let’s normalise this after this.”

“Good, just drive in. This is public parking not their house. So selfish,” commented a user.

On the other hand, a couple of netizens were a bit more cautious and said that if you do this, you should be prepared to come back to a car that has been scratched.

“When I come across a situation like this, normally I would just let it go and let them have it. This is because just due to something like this, my car was scratched by a coin.”

“When we get the parking, of course we’d feel proud and mighty. But when we come back, our car would get a scratch as a souvenir,” said another user.
