Sadly, Johor is currently facing massive floods with many having to leave their homes to move into evacuation centers.

All kinds of videos and images have since emerged online in regards to the floods, though not all of it is true.

A video of a bridge being swept away by a flooded river is going viral online right now, showcased by the @naturelikeit TikTok page, in which many believe is the Labis bridge in Johor.

Though, it has since been confirmed by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) that the incident, in fact, did not happen in Johor. Additionally, the video is originally from December of last year.

“The Johor Contingent Police has detected a viral video on TikTok under ‘naturelikeit’ on December 12, 2022, of 20 seconds related to the incident of a bridge collapsing and being swept away by the current.”

“The Johor Contingent Police confirmed that the incident did not happen in the state of Johor and is believed to have happened abroad. Therefore, the public is advised not to spread false news or messages that can cause fear and annoyance to the community,” shared Johor Police Chief, Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat.

We’re so happy that the bridge collapse did not happen in Malaysia, though it is still saddening that many are struggling through the severe floods in Johor right now.

We genuinely hope that everyone stays safe during these trying times.
