UPDATE: CCTV Footage Shows Horrifying Moment Ground Collapses & Woman Falls In at Masjid India, KL

The Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) and Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) are currently still hard at work conducting the search and rescue mission to save a woman who’s buried approximately 8 metres underground following the ground collapsing beneath her at Masjid India, Kuala Lumpur.

The shocking incident took place at around 8.22am today and the victim has been identified as a 48-year-old Indian national.

 

JBPM and DBKL’s search and rescue operation continues

In an update, BERNAMA reported that JBPM personnel have been lowered through a manhole near the incident which leads to a sewer connecting to where the victim was buried.

 


Furthermore, premises near the location have been ordered to close by the authorities to give way to the search and rescue operation.

As of the time of writing, the victim has yet to be located by the search and rescue team.

In another update on the incident, CCTV footage from a premise nearby the location managed to capture the distressing moment when the victim fell into the sinkhole.

In the video, the victim can be seen walking at Masjid India when the ground beneath her suddenly collapses.

During the incident, several people were loitering nearby and the pavement looked safe to walk on.

As the victim fell, passersby rushed to the sinkhole but was unable to save the victim as she had fallen several metres underground.
