The Menu Rahmah initiative has been receiving so much love from struggling Malaysian who now get to enjoy affordable and filling meals.

So much so a foreigner is too praising the initiative, and is hoping that his home country will also follow suit and implement similar actions.

TikToker, @veggiesontour, took to his TikTok account to call for Rishi Sunak to ‘take a leaf out of Prime Minister Anwar’s book’.

He shared, “While the world is battling with inflation, the cost of living is rising, countries like the UK is really struggling to even feed its own people. Check out what Malaysia is doing to help its people.”

“So Malaysia has come up with this really, really, really great thing called Menu Rahmah, which is a RM5 meal for people struggling to make ends meet in Malaysia. It’s pretty fantastic, it’s a great little scheme introduced under (Dato’ Seri) Anwar (DSAI) and it seems to be working really well.”

He went on to explain that he’s spoken to taxi drivers and they’ve all said that they’ve been getting Menu Rahmah meals and it’s one of the best things that they can eat affordably.

“And there’s a lot of places doing it, there’s places like Mydin and stuff, but, the menus are with chicken and with fish. So, they don’t really offer a vegetarian option,” he added.

Despite this, he managed to find a vegetarian restaurant in Skudai, Johor, that also offers hearty meals for only RM4 to RM5.

Menu 3 1

He ended his video with, “The British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak could be definitely taking a leaf out of Prime Minister Anwar’s book.”

Wouldn’t it be amazing to see foreign countries praising and imitating Malaysian initiatives?

We can’t wait to see what other measures the Unity Government has in store to help underprivileged communities and improve our economy!
