We were just as surprised as you are when we first heard it, but it’s true! According to The Borneo Post, the watch party was hosted by Astro MeleTOP host Hawa Rizwana Redzuan, entrepreneur Mohd Faiz bin Zakaria and professional porter Jvy Mius. They managed to hold this watch party equipped with just their Astro Plug & Play Ultra Box which streams live sports over the internet.
It all started when Jvy made a TikTok post about how hyped he was for the upcoming Premier League season and wished to be able to catch up with matches between his climbs up Malaysia’s tallest mountain.

Noticing this, Faiz commented on his post, planning to climb with him deciding to surprise Jvy with a watch party and a Liverpool jersey as they were both fans of Liverpool. Hawa on the other hand, noticed their exchange and decided to tag along.
Their whole journey was documented on their TikTok.
The three climbers made their hike on the morning of 13 August with the long-awaited Chelsea vs. Liverpool match happening later that night at 11:30pm (4:30pm UK time). Throughout their hike on Mount Kinabalu, the trio updated their TikToks with videos of their mountainous adventure with one of those videos being Jvy’s reaction to Faiz’s surprise gift for him.

Once they reached the Panalaban Basecamp, Hawa and Faiz set up their Astro Ultra Box to host their watch party for Chelsea and Liverpool’s football match for Jvy! The professional porter was pleasantly surprised by this turn of events.
And the more the merrier as they always say, as another small group of lucky fans joined the party and caught the exciting match too! The epic Premier League match ended just in time for their preparation to ascend the summit but luckily they weren’t drained of their energy from the watch party!

“Throughout my years of being a porter, this is my first time having someone hike up with an Astro Ultra Box to stream a Premier League match on the resort’s TV.
