A single mother of five in Selangor is struggling to care for her children, leaving her 3-month-old baby severely malnourished.
The family’s situation came to light after Malaysian philanthropist Kuan Chee Heng, better known as Uncle Kentang, shared that financial hardship had become so severe that the mother was forced to feed her baby ‘Teh O’ (black tea) because she couldn’t afford formula.

“A 27-year-old single mother of five is struggling to care for her children. Her 3-month-old baby is suffering from severe malnutrition. With no money to buy infant formula, the mother has been giving her baby Teh O instead,” the post read.
Uncle Kentang also revealed that the family had run out of cooking gas and had been unable to pay their RM900 monthly rent.

Uncle Kentang has appealed to the public to help by donating basic necessities to the struggling family, and encouraged those who wish to contribute to contact him at 019-231 6666.
“The children are aged 7, 5, 3, 18 months, and 3 months. If you are able to help by providing groceries, cooking gas, or milk for the baby, please do so. Please call me for their full address and phone number,” he added.
