A strong woman who pushes through hardships

“She is a Facebook friend whom I’ve known from my journey with my small business since last year August but sadly in the same month, she lost her husband in Singapore due to a motorbike accident,” Poonam said.

Poonam goes on to explain that Glory is one strong woman as she continued to push through the hardships she faced, as she had to provide for her son.

“Her conversations with me are always about her son! She would say “I’m ok akka (big sister), life has to go on and I need to focus on my son now.”

Even when Glory injured her leg and had to undergo an operation that required a six-month recovery period, she still chose to fight through the pain and continue with her small business.

Glory even took to her Facebook and said:

“I am not going to go through life feeling unworthy. I’m not going to let what’s happened to me, what didn’t work out, who did me wrong, keep me from becoming who I was created to be.”

Poonam’s post has garnered over 1,900 shares. Netizens flooded the comment section to express their support and admiration towards the single mother.

To many, this nasi lemak stall seems to be just another business. But, to Glory, it represents her love for her son.

For those of you who would like to show your support, Glory’s nasi lemak business, ‘JG Nasi Lemak Corner‘ is located at Ming Seng Kopitiam at No. 1 Jalan Perkasa 2/18, Taman Tampoi Indah. It opens from 6.30am until 4pm.
