Parking fees in Malaysia can be quite expensive, whether it’s in a mall, indoors, or outdoors. Unfortunately, certain places also come with steep parking rates that can break your budget.

In a recent Facebook post by Perak Press, a local tourist shared their parking experience at Marina Island. According to the post, the tourist had to pay RM46 for parking.

The tourist also shared that it was unclear why the parking fee was so expensive, especially considering they hadn’t even been there for 48 hours.

“I parked on the 26th at 5:38 pm and left the parking on the 27th at 6:09 pm. I paid RM46 for it. Even Genting isn’t like this. If I don’t get rich, this might be the last time I go there.”

Netizens quickly jumped in to share their thoughts on this, some even suggested taking the ferry as a cheaper alternative.

“You should park in Lumut. You can enjoy the scenery of the city, and you’ll have the opportunity to spend half an hour on the ferry to Pangkor.”

“You should park near Lumut. It’s better to take the ferry, even though the travel is a little slow. It’s even cheaper, and you can take a stroll around Lumut.”

“I parked my car at the Marina parking the other day and was charged RM60 for just two days of parking. I’m confused about how they’re calculating this.”
