A recent post has sparked outrage among netizens after a woman shared how the company she worked for reportedly pressured her into resigning.
The woman, Suhaily, took to Threads (@veloriaavely) to share her experience, recalling how the company made her sign a resignation letter just a week before she was due to give birth.

Malaysian made to sign resignation letter a week before giving birth
Suhaily said she decided to bring the matter to the Labour Department (JTK), where she was informed that she would still be entitled to maternity benefits as she had met the required conditions.
“A week before I was due to give birth, the company made me sign a resignation letter. I reported the matter to the Labour Department (JTK), and they told me that the company would still be required to pay my maternity benefits, even if I was the one who resigned,” she wrote.
She explained that she qualified for the benefits as she had worked for more than 90 days and was more than 22 weeks pregnant.
The company blames her for not “planning the pregnancy properly”
Suhaily claimed that the company then tried to shift the blame onto her, saying that she was at fault for not planning her pregnancy properly.
However, according to Suhaily, the JTK officer pushed back against the company’s reasoning.
“The JTK officer responded by saying, ‘If you want to talk about planning, maybe you can plan when you already have 10 children. This is her first child. How can you say an employee isn’t allowed to get pregnant?’
“Thank you to the JTK officer who helped me,” she added.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Suhaily also encouraged other pregnant women who may find themselves in a similar situation to stand up for their rights.
“My advice to pregnant women who are in the same situation as me is, don’t be afraid to speak up and don’t give up. Don’t feel guilty for standing up for your rights.”
