Considering the ongoing conflict between Palestine and Israel, many people have been taking to social media to share their opinions. These opinions would then cause friction between individuals and their friends, colleagues, employers and so forth.

One person who is currently facing the wrath of their employer is content creator and former pornstar Mia Khalifa, who was been fired from her podcast deal with Playboy over her opinion she publicly shared about the Palestine-Israel conflict.

According to a report by The Independent, Khalifa was fired from the podcast deal because, in regards to the ongoing war, she took to Twitter to urge “freedom fighters in Palestine to flip their phones and film horizontal”.

She later explained that did not endorse violence through the comment, which was instead meant to highlight the need for Palestinian freedom.

“I just want to make it clear that this statement in no way shape or form is enticing (the) spread of violence, I specifically said freedom fighters because that’s what the Palestinian citizens are, fighting for freedom every day,” she shared.

Despite this, Playboy announced that they have severed ties with Khalifa as they believe her comment was ‘disgusting and reprehensive’.

“We are writing today to let you know of our decision to terminate Playboy’s relationship with Mia Khalifa, including deleting Mia’s Playboy channel on our creator platform. Mia has made disgusting and reprehensive comments celebrating Hamas’ attacks on Israel and the murder of innocent men, women and children.”

“At Playboy, we encourage free expression and constructive political debate, but we have a zero-tolerance policy for hate speech. We expect Mia to understand her words and actions have consequences,” they shared.

Khalifa’s Playboy creator profile has since been deleted.
