PDRM: 45yo School Headmaster & 44yo Nurse Wife Found Murdered at Their Sarawak Home

A 45-year-old school headmaster and his wife were found dead at their home in Sarawak. The police later confirmed that the case is being investigated as a double homicide.

The Sarawak State Education Department today (14 January) took to Facebook to announce the passing of Andy Roy Anak Junran, the headmaster of SK Sbangki Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah Lubok Antu.

A school headmaster and his wife were found dead in their Sarawak home

The Sarawak State Education Department expressed its condolences to the family of the late headmaster, describing him as a dedicated school leader and hoping that all matters would be made easier for his loved ones.

“The department has lost a committed school leader who carried out his duties with dedication to advance and uphold national education. May the late headmaster rest in peace, and may his family be granted strength and patience,” the post read.

The late headmaster had reportedly just been promoted earlier this month, while his wife worked as a nurse at Sri Aman Hospital.

The case has been classified as murder

The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has confirmed that the married couple was murdered at their home in Taman Mutiara, Jalan Brayun, Sri Aman.

According to Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mohamad Zainal bin Haji Abdullah, the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code (Murder), with the motive and cause remaining under investigation.

“Preliminary checks confirmed that both victims, a 45-year-old man and his 44-year-old wife, had died at the scene.

“We urge anyone with information related to this incident to contact the Case Investigating Officer, ASP Kalang, at 019-331 7785, the Sri Aman District Police Control Centre, or any nearby police station,” the statement added.
