A group of Palestinians are currently going viral online after they caused a commotion at Wisma Transit Kuala Lumpur (WTKL) on Wednesday evening (October 2).

The group allegedly went on a rampage as they were dissatisfied after one of them was disallowed from staying outside of WTKL.

“It is believed that there were some Palestinians who were unhappy because (law enforcement) forces did not allow one of the Palestinians to stay outside. The Palestinian involved then made a commotion in front of the WTKL Guard Station with their family and friends,” the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) said, as shared by Sarawak Update.

WTKL is a hotel-styled hospitality complex that is meant to accommodate those who are in transit in Malaysia, though it is largely meant for military personnel, civilian staff members of the Ministry of Defense and their families. In this case, the Palestinian group was not allowed to leave the building as they were only in Malaysia for transit.

An officer on duty at the time had noticed the incident and acted calmly.

“The officer on duty also asked the Palestinians involved to leave the area. All of the Palestinians then entered the main lobby of WTKL, caused a commotion and went on a rampage by breaking vases and damaging the decorations found in the main lobby of WTKL,” they added.

The officer on duty allegedly tried to defuse the situation but one of the Palestinians apparently threw a slipper at the officer.

“Representatives of the Palestinian Embassy were also present and tried to disperse the commotion but were unsuccessful,” they explained.

To avoid any further incidents, law enforcement officers have been placed to monitor the movements of the group.
