For four consecutive days, commuters on the LRT Kelana Jaya line have been forced to endure long queues before boarding their trains.

This morning (26 February), RapidKL announced yet another service disruption, citing technical issues as the cause of the delay.

Widespread disruptions across the rail network

In a series of posts on its official Facebook page, RapidKL stated that a train had been taken out of service at Putra Heights Station due to a technical fault. The removal has temporarily affected train frequency, which is being automatically adjusted to compensate for the gap.

However, the Kelana Jaya line was not the only service affected today. The Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Kajang line, which connects Kwasa Damansara to Kajang, also experienced delays following a points switch issue between Kwasa Damansara and Kwasa Sentral.

These disruptions struck during the peak morning rush. At approximately 9:30 AM, the Kelana Jaya line was hit again when a train was withdrawn from service at Dato’ Keramat Station due to a technical fault. RapidKL advised passengers to expect significant crowding at interchange stations during peak hours.

“One of Ramadan’s tests”

Frustrated commuters took to social media to vent their anger over the persistent disruptions that have plagued the network for four days straight. One Threads user dubbed the situation “one of Ramadan’s tests,” encouraging fellow commuters to remain patient.

“I urge everyone to accept this fate because, in acceptance, God always eases things,” the user wrote.

Other passengers shared more alarming experiences. One user reported that the train often braked abruptly, causing some passengers to fall; one commuter reportedly injured his hand during such an incident.

The same commuter claimed the train failed to stop at the Abdullah Hukum LRT station entirely, forcing him to board another train back to his intended destination.

Another user joked that the train was “fasting” during Ramadan after she was left stranded in a carriage that remained stationary at the Ara Damansara LRT station.

To those who commute by LRT and MRT today, how was your journey?
