Be careful if you frequent Cheras near this mall!

According to a Facebook post, on Thursday (27 Sept), a man pretended to be an Indonesian police officer and harassed a girl nearby IKON Mall in Cheras by asking her numerous questions, reasoning that it was for collecting “Indonesian data”.

The man then asked her to follow him to the McDonald’s situated opposite IKON Mall. She refused to do so and the man proceeded to record a video of her with his mobile phone, which caused her to panic and run to the Giant supermarket in the mall. The man followed her and told her to stop or he would have to call his boss. So scary!Ā

Fearing for her safety, she immediately called her girl friend, the person who posted the incident on Facebook. Since she wanted to escape the situation as soon as possible, she obeyed her friend’s instructions as she was asked to head towardsĀ a crowded area and ask for help from a stranger by getting them to pretend to be her friend so that the man would leave her alone.Ā After getting a hold of a security guard, he helped her by telling the man to leave her alone and the man did.

Fortunately, the girl was unharmed; however, she is now traumatised as she fears he might be able to find her based on the video he recorded prior.Ā
