So, for those who may not know, the KL High Court recently dropped all 47 charges of criminal breach of trust, corruption and money laundering against Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Following this, Muar MP and MUDA president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman announced that his party would be dropping out of the Unity Government as a show of dissatisfaction over the KL High Court’s decision.

Taking to his Twitter page, he shared that MUDA would instead form a ‘third force’ opposition bloc.

He wrote, “MUDA has decided to become a ‘third force’ opposition as a sign of protest because the government today (September 10), dropped 47 cases of corruption. This is the beginning of the normalisation of corruption. We cannot and will not tolerate this unprincipled move.”

“Let me be punished rather than losing my principles and committing great sins. I will answer all questions in a live session later at 8:30pm. MUDA remains principled.”

In his video, he went on to explain that the move to become an opposition bloc is so that the party can be the voice of the rakyat (people).

“Who would have thought, that it would be this so-called ‘reformed government’ that would end up dropping corruption charges for the sake of power,” he added.
