Due to the apparent refusal to let other students copy her answers during an examination, a Form 3 student at a school in Rembau, Negeri Sembilan, allegedly became the victim of emotional bullying by her classmates.

According to a report by Sinar Harian, the student’s father, Mohd Anas Sudin, shared that his daughter was often insulted and mocked with the nickname ‘Kacip’, to the point where she no longer wants to go to school.

“I found it strange because she constantly said that she didn’t want to go to school and asked to be transferred to another school. At first, my child didn’t want to tell me the reason, but after being forced several times, she finally admitted that she was often harassed by her classmates since she didn’t allow them to copy from her exam papers,” he said.

The student had also allegedly complained to the disciplinary teacher about this matter, but unfortunately, no action was taken, and she continued to be harassed.

“My child became unmotivated to study, and I, as a father, was also affected by this situation. So, I discussed things with my wife to apply to transfer my child to another school, but the process was quite difficult because there was no cooperation from the school; they gave the excuse that the principal was not around,” he added.

A police report was filed

For safety reasons and to speed up the process of transferring schools, he and his daughter filed a police report. Soon after that, his daughter’s school transfer application was approved, and she seems happier.

“My daughter was very happy to be able to transfer to another school, and I saw her enthusiasm to study hard again,”

“When the case of the late Zara Qairina Mahathir happened, I remembered what had happened to my daughter. Even if my daughter was only a victim of emotional bullying, if I didn’t act early, it might have had a worse effect,” he explained.
