With the rising cost of living, many Malaysians want to ensure they get the best bang for their buck whenever they have to eat out.

With that being said, a Malaysian had the shock of their lives upon discovering that the RM7 Tom Yum dish they ordered at a restaurant only came with a few small pieces of chicken, squid and prawns. But, the restaurant owner’s response was what left them stunned.

The Saja Viral Facebook page shared that the owner allegedly fished for the ingredients used in the Tom Yum themselves and that the small pieces of squid and prawns were all they got.

They wrote, “The owner said that this is the result of their fishing in the ocean for the RM7 Tom Yum dish.”

In the images showcased, the customer had allegedly picked out all of the proteins from the Tom Yum dish and displayed them on a plate.

Based on the photo, there were only 5 small pieces of chicken, 3 small pieces of squid rings, and 2 small prawns.

Many have since agreed that the Tom Yum dish isn’t worth the price.

“If restaurants want to bleed us dry, let’s eat in Thailand instead. This is why people are crowding to Thailand despite having to endure immigration for hours. Because the food there is tasty and they don’t charge bloodsucking prices.”
