Mat and Minah Rempits may very well be the bane of Malaysian road users’ existence, so much so that many have called for the authorities to take stricter action against these motorcyclists who are endangering both their own lives and the lives of others on the road.

Here’s an example of why stricter enforcement and punishment is needed.

The KAMI Pengguna JALAN RAYA Facebook page recently shared a video of a group of Minah Rempits proudly showing off the summons they’ve received, treating it like an award instead of a punishment.

They sarcastically wrote, “With pride”.

In the video, several girls can be seen sitting on their motorcycles while showing off their summons. While some had 1 to 3 summons each, there were some among them who had 5 to 6 summons, which they proudly displayed for the camera.

Netizens have since shared their disappointment over the girls’ mindsets and condemned them for feeling proud of something bad.

Minah 1

“If it was me, I would be embarrassed.”

Minah 2

“Their mothers and fathers would be sad.”

Minah 3

“Forgive them, their brains were not fully developed while they were in the womb.”

Minah 4

“Pride that is out of place. I hope this becomes a court case and they get convicted. Only then will they know how high up the sky is (when they come crashing down to earth).”

You can check out the saddening video here.

We genuinely hope that the authorities considering stricter punishments considering summons seem to be treated more of a joke than a penalty.
