Being a landlord isn’t easy because you’ll never know if you’re renting to honest and consistent tenants or ones from hell.

One example is a Malaysian couple from Ipoh, Perak, who had not only left their rental room in a horrifically dirty condition but had also skipped out on a month’s rental payment (RM350) and owed the landlord additional money.

The landlord, Prem (*name hidden for privacy purposes), shared with us at WORLD OF BUZZ, videos of the room, the police report she made regarding the couple, and a conversation she had with one of them.

It all started on June 19, 2022, when Prem went to the couple’s (Efie and Intan) room to clean it out after they could not be reached for quite some time. Using the spare room key, that’s when she discovered the absolute mess they had left behind.

There were unknown liquids spilt on the floor and used pans and rotting food with cigarette buds, among other personal items, spewed everywhere.

Prem eventually managed to contact Intan, where Intan dismissed Prem’s concern.

“Sigh, it’s difficult to speak to people of other ethnicities. Difficult to understand. It’s okay la,” Intan said.

“What about the RM50 to pay Dewi? Why do other ethnicities have to pay your debt? Are you not ashamed? Were you not ashamed when you asked for help from other ethnicities to buy food?” Prem questioned back.

Prem has since made a police report against the duo to hold on to the duo’s items until they pay their debts.
